We offer full service hunter/jumper training for horse owners.
Offering two training programs tailored to horse owners. Full training includes up to 3 lessons and 2 professional training rides per week. Partial training includes up to 2 lessons and 2 professional training rides per week. Both programs include scheduling and handling of horse for vet and farrier appointments. Brookside competes at a variety of both local and away shows, ranging from AA to schooling shows. While competing is not required, we try to attend horse shows that accommodate all riding levels.
Brookside ensures a fun, family friendly atmosphere located in a beautiful peaceful setting. We offer a safe, fully enclosed indoor arena great for starting new riders, and a large outdoor arena overlooking acres of stunning grass turnout. Owned and operated by Jonnie, and Janine, a true mother and daughter team with many years of hunter and jumper experience between them.
Jonnie was born and raised in Washington State. She began competitively riding at 10 years old, after spending her early childhood riding and falling in love with horses at her family’s cattle ranch. While competing through the levels on her own horses, as a hunter and then focusing on jumpers, Jonnie was also a working student where she gained valuable knowledge catch riding anything and everything. After graduating from University of Washington in 2006 she gave up her amateur status for her lifelong dream of teaching and riding as a professional. She spent 10 years learning and working for other professionals before branching out on her own and starting Brookside Equestrian.
Janine has had a passion for horses her whole life and spent many years competing before having Jonnie and her two sisters. It wasn’t until Jonnie sparked an interest in riding that Janine got back into it. Together, Janine and Jonnie have been competing together for over 25 years.
Brookside Equestrian is located at Brookside Farm. On nearly 8 acres, we offer clients a 60’x120’ indoor arena and a 70’x200’ outdoor arena with sand and synthetic felt footing, 19 large grass pastures, 19 oversized well-lit stalls, 2 heated tack rooms, a warm water wash rack, rest room and both owners and staff live on site.
